Gronkowski taking it day-by-day
Football Betting Lines
01/31/2012 -
Indianapolis, IN (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - New England Patriots tight end Rob
Gronkowski met the media on Tuesday and quickly addressed his ankle injury,
sounding much like head coach Bill Belichick.
"I'm going day-by-day," Gronkowski said, repeating himself numerous times with
the throng of reporters surrounding him at the Super Bowl's media day on the
field at Lucas Oil Stadium.
It's basically the same response Belichick, never one to divulge details on
injured players, has given since last week.
"We'll just take it day-by-day," Belichick has maintained about Gronkowski's
status.
Gronkowski has not yet practiced in preparation for Sunday's game against the
New York Giants because of a left ankle injury he sustained during the AFC
Championship Game against Baltimore.
He arrived in Indianapolis on Sunday wearing a walking boot, but indicated
Tuesday that it's off and won't be used again.
Gronkowski wouldn't say whether he would practice this week, or whether he
would play Sunday if he was not able to participate in practice.
"I don't know yet," Gronkowski reiterated. "We're going day-by-day. I'm
feeling better everyday. I want to be out there with the team. I want to help
out the team.
"When Sunday comes along, [the trainers] will have me where I need to be."
Gronkowski had a record-breaking year for the Patriots, setting an NFL mark
for tight ends with 17 touchdown receptions. He also scored once on the ground
and finished the campaign with 90 catches -- second on the team behind only
Wes Welker's 122 -- for 1,327 yards.

Will Ohio State continue to run the table in College Football betting odds?
MySportsbook.com favors Buckeyes, Fighting Irish and Golden Bears in this weekend's big games.
NEW YORK, NY, Sept. 21 - My Sportsbook NCAA football fans: things are beginning to get really interesting on college football's national stage. Following last weekend's "Separation Saturday", which included five teams ranked in the top 15 dropping games, the BCS Championship picture is beginning to take shape - with Ohio State leading the charge. And, according to odds makers at MySportsbook.com, the number-one-ranked Buckeyes will continue their winning ways this weekend.
Revenge will be the name of the game in Columbus this Saturday, as Ohio State looks to even the score following last season's loss to Joe Paterno's Nittany Lions. Although Penn State are listed as 16.5 point underdogs, they are 11-10 all-time versus the Buckeyes. Paterno and the Lions, however, will have to shut down Heisman Trophy favorite Troy Smith who has thrown for 769 yards and seven touchdowns this season.
Speaking of revenge, Notre Dame will be out for some against Michigan State, following last year's 44 - 41 overtime loss to the Spartans in South Bend. The thirteenth-ranked Irish, listed as a 3-point favorite, will also be looking to avenge last Saturday's thrashing from the Michigan Wolverines. The Spartans, meanwhile, have won seven of the last nine match-ups against Notre Dame and are coming off an impressive 38-23 victory over Pittsburgh.
Out west, 22nd-ranked Arizona State will be battling for their first victory over 21st-ranked California since 2000. Although the Golden Bears are listed as 7.5-point favorites, the Sun Devils are 3-0, lead the nation in sacks with 18 and possess the Pac-10's leading passer in sophomore quarterback Rudy Carpenter.

It's less than a month until the NHL hockey betting season opens at MySportsbook.com and preparations are underway for another battle in the race to hoist Lord Stanley's mug in 2007.
As cup crazy fans prepare to place their bets, one online sportsbook ,MySportsbook.com, is offering hockey betting lines on the 2007/2007 Stanley Cup , who will bring it home this upcoming season.
Despite a poor showing in last season's playoffs and the loss of Steve Yzerman to retirement, the Detroit Red Wings are early favourites at this online sportsbook with wagering odds of 6-1. The Wings will look to offensive powerhouse Pavel Datsyuk and newly appointed captain Nicklas Lidstrom to lead one of the league's most prominent franchises.
Always a threat are the Ottawa Senators, with newly acquired goaltender Martin Gerber from the Stanley Cup champion ,Carolina Hurricanes. The Sens are second best in the rankings at a 7-1 bet, and odds makers at this sportsbook are optimistic that the Ottawa squad will fare better than last season's Eastern Conference semi-final upset to the Buffalo Sabres.
Also worth noting are the defending Stanley Cup champs Carolina Hurricanes, a 10-1 bet to repeat. Behind the Canes are the New Jersey Devils, Calgary Flames, Buffalo Sabres, Philadelphia Flyers, and Anaheim Mighty Ducks all sit at 12-1. In the basement are the Washington Capitals, Chicago Blackhawks, and St. Louis Blues who all have 100-1 odds to win.
